Hannah & Zach’s San Francisco Love Story

Zach and Hannah, like the average modern-day love story, met through a dating app, but trust me when I say that doesn’t mean that their love story is anything short of romantic, because Zach’s middle name could definitely be romantic.

Their first date screamed dating in the middle of a global pandemic, because it was outside, in mid-December, bundled up and next to heat lamps, enjoying Mexican food and trying not to freeze, but the easy flowing conversations made for a very memorable night that filled their hearts with enough warmth, that they didn’t really notice.

The night ended with Hannah not only asking Zach for his phone number, but also having to ask for a kiss to seal the evening. She called her friend after the date (who she called earlier in the evening with hopes that Zach would not bail because again, she didn’t have his phone number) and said “I just met my husband”. She was sure he was the one.

A few texts were exchanged before the second date was secured, the date that will forever go down in Zach and Hannah’s love story. The second date that single-handedly started the annual tradition of launching the holiday season with casual bar food, bowling, drinking eggnog from the carton, and admiring Christmas lights. The tradition that Zach used to pop the question to Hannah and truly started their forever. With their third-year in the making, the evening was coming to a close, after stopping by the exact bar they had their second date, going bowling, and walking along the Wilmington Riverfront to see the Christmas lights, Zach ended the night on one knee and by asking the easiest question Hannah has ever been asked.

And I’d like to add that he included a custom made ornament that displays a hand-written note that he has kept in his wallet since one spontaneous beach trip they took 3 months after they started dating (March 2021), that read “I’m gonna marry you” that he wrote on a piece of the paper bag that their bottle of champagne came in from their picnic – see what I mean by Zach’s middle name could be romantic?

This is just the beginning of their love story, one that is filled with vibrant colors and adventures of visiting baseball stadiums and collecting foam fingers. Zach and Hannah tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in San Francisco, California on September 26, 2023, followed by crossing off two more stadiums on their list!
